EPIC

EPIC is working to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors for our youth.   We are collaborating with Planet Youth on implementing the Icelandic Prevention Model. The Planet Youth Guidance Program is an evidenced-based community approach to reduce youth substance use. We will focus on the social and environmental causes that are leading to unacceptable substance use rates by our youth.  Addressing needs in domains of; family, peer group, community, leisure time and school.

Our coalition board brings voices to the table from;  education, protective services, elected officials, civic and volunteer groups, community serving organizations, youth, healthcare, mental health professionals,  business, youth serving organizations and parents.   This coalition conducted surveys in the Spring of 2024 with our 7-12 graders on substance use.
